Mizoram ("land of the Mizo people") is one of the Seven Sister States in North Eastern India Mizoram lies in the southernmost outpost of North Eastern India, the land of the Blue Mountains. Manipur, Assam and Tripura bind the northern end of this little island of tranquility with neighboring countries Myanmar and Bangladesh nestling most of the state between them.
Capital of mizoram is aizawl and language use in mizoram is mizo and english .majority of the people are christians in various denominations, predominantly Presbyterian and the church forms an important part of Mizo culture. Migrated Hindus form a small minority (3.6%) and there are also around 8.3% Buddhists according to the 2001 census, mostly made up from Chakma settlers of Arakan origin. Muslims make up about 1.1%.

The inhabitants of  Mizoram are known by the generic name of Mizo, which literally means people (mi) of the hills (zo).  There are a number of separate tribes under the general ethnic broad group of Mizo.

one lovely evening in mizoram.. i just love this pic.. i miss my home town wher ol my love ones are ther :(

View of aizawl city at night

The general climate of Mizoram is one of the most pleasing one in the country. With moderate temperatures throughout the year, the Mizoram climate is loved by the tourists and visitors.

Cheraw is a very old traditional dance of the Mizos. Men sitting face to face on the ground tap long pairs of horizontal and cross bamboo staves open and close in rhythmic beats. Girls in colorful Mizo costumes of 'Puanchei', 'Kawrchei'. Vakiria' and 'Thihna' dance in and out between the beats of bamboo. This dance is now performed in almost all festive occasions.

Mizo dancers performed in a bid to be the largest Cheraw Dancers ensemble declared at 3 pm on Friday ie  march 12 2010 on chapchar kut  . Mizoram has achieved the largest dance ensemble in the world to a thunderous applause from what was believed to be the largest gathering of people in Mizoram. It is indeed, a proud moment for Mizoram in particular and India in general that Mizoram, a small state in North East India, has literally danced its way into the Guinness Book of World records when 10, 736 dancers performed traditional Mizo bamboo dance 'Cheraw' in the state capital on Friday. I am m proud to shared all this with you as i never dreamt that mizoram will make such an unforgetttable record .. so diz is the only proper video i have seen so i just upload from you  tube and hope you like it.here is the video of mizo performing cheraw which is the proved to be the worlds largest bamboo dance in the world.
